UAS: Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention

A person manipulating the flight controls of a small, unmanned aircraft system or acting as a Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) or visual observer must comply with the provisions of 14 CFR 91.17 and 91.19 of Section 107.27.? UAS operators must undergo drug and alcohol testing if they are authorized to operate under a certificate.?This includes employees who perform safety-sensitive duties.?The regulations are under 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40; however, the federal testing requirements do not apply to individuals that operate UAS under 14 CFR Part 107.

This UAS: Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention module is designed for employees working in a safety-sensitive position who are subject to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) workplace drug and alcohol testing. The module gives covered employees the basics of what they need to know about the DOT and your company programs.
