North Texas Metroplex – “We’re Number 2!!”

With apologies to all of you who operate out of airports in the North Texas Metroplex, the fact is that your airspace and procedures rollover, scheduled for September 18, will be the second in the series, following Houston’s launch on May 28. Hopefully you can find some comfort in the fact that, counting the two of you, Texas will be the first state in the U.S.A. to get this done. Congratulations to everyone from the FAA, NATCO, American Airlines, and Southwest Airlines who worked so hard to get this major component of NextGen accomplished. MITRE Corporation, the NBAA, and Express Jet were also involved.
The Industry working group folks, led by Brian Will of American Airlines, were good enough to send us a copy of the informational briefing. Originally in Power Point, we have converted it to .pdf for your use. Reviewing the complete briefing, below, will serve you better than if we had paraphrased and summarized it. Just double-click on it, and the file should open for you, as long as you have Adobe Reader installed on your device.
