CRM / Human Factors: Aeronautical Decision Making and Risk Management

The Crew Resource Management / Human Factors: Aeronautical Decision Making and Risk Management module includes a review of Advisory Circular 60-22, Aeronautical Decision Making and the Pilot Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK) on decision making. The PHAK promotes the DECIDE process, which we apply to a business aviation environment. The risk management section reviews hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation strategies. The PAVE (PIC, Aircraft, Environment, External Pressures) checklist is described as a hazard identification tool.
