An Overview of eLearning Module Updates

An Overview of eLearning Module Updates
  • September 15, 2015
Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) have been hard at work updating the modules with the latest changes to FAA Advisory Circulars, new FAA Safety Alert for Operators (SAFOs), FAA Information for Operators (InFOs), and new case studies to apply to the training material.

Our CPDLC eLearning module was recently expanded to include Departure Clearance (DCL) training in accordance with FAA notice 8900.297. The module was also updated for the revision to AC 120-70, now version C.

Our High Altitude Operations module was updated with Change 1 to FAA Advisory Circular 61-107B.

We also have a redesigned Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Materials module. The layout of the module was reorganized to match the Department of Transportation (DOT) training requirements for ease of auditing compliance with regulations and IS-BAO.

During the update process, our SME reviewed changes to DOT and IATA regulations, Advisory Circulars, DOT Dangerous Goods Advisory Bulletins, DOT letters of interpretation, FAA InFos and SAFOs, and over 500 NASA ASRS reports. We condensed all the information into a new one-hour eLearning module for Part 91 operators that highlights recent changes and points of emphasis for business aircraft operators.

The Safety Management System module was updated by our SME in response to trends he is seeing while conducting IS-BAO audits and areas of emphasis from the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).

While we've been working on keeping our material updated and relevant, we've also been hard at work producing new content. Look for an announcement at NBAA BACE in November of 2015 for new eLearning modules that will be available for 2016.
